With a preface in English and German. This opera was originally composed between 1937-1941, on a libretto by Hermann Burte, and was premiered in 1943. Much later, Francesco Micieli wrote a new libretto for the opera, which removed the various Nazisms in the original. This is a reprint of a Universal Edition score of the new version.
