C. P. E. Bach was an avid collector of portraits of fellow musicians, as well as others. A great deal of these portraits survive in the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, including many which have been recently discovered. The first volume of this set contains a catalog of the portraits, as well as an introduction, appendices, and indices. The second volume contains plates of the portraits, as well as two appendices.
