Erdmann is best remembered as a great pianist, but also had a successful career as a composer. He premiered this work in 1929 with the Gürzenich Orchestra, but fell into obscurity when frowned upon by the Third Reich. A reprint of the original Universal Edition of 1930. With a new introduction.
